You may never be as diligent as your husband, Christy, but chances are that you are already more diligent than a lot of our fellow expats!

Start with anything and see how you like it, but it's the starting that is the trick, I think!

I really appreciate the comments on Pimsler Spanish. They are,
IMHO, very accurate. My husband bought all three courses and listens to them in the car
He also bought the book, Madrigal's Magic Key to Spanish, and has gone through several notebooks, practicing. He is a determined learner and has done well. Most people, myself included, would not spend the time and effort he has spent. When Mexicans speak to him, he seems to get the gist of what
they are saying and be able to communicate, albeit with grammatical errors. I recognize this from speaking French and
a long exposure to Spanish, but my own Spanish needs work, which I have been too lazy to do.
I appreciate all the information and comparisons and am trying
to figure out which way will be more helpful to me as I commit
to learning. Even so, I know I will never be as diligent as is my
husband.
Sincerely,
Christy Wiseman
