As we begin a new year, with fresh date books and calendars, it’s a great time to think about new projects. Most “resolutions” don’t last terribly long, but if you do a bit of planning and organizing to set things up, you can greatly improve your Spanish this year. Or in less than a year.
Obviously with this website named LearnSpanishRapidly.com, I am an advocate of learning Spanish fast. Let me explain a little what I think is involved…
- Finding the time – and even more important, the emotional energy – to study Spanish every day
- Selecting the best method to be the core of your system, whether it’s Fluenz, Rocket Spanish or one of the other programs I review, a website, or a class
- Working with a flash card program
- Speaking Spanish regularly, even if just to yourself at first

The motivations to learn Spanish fast will be different for each person. For me, it’s the pleasure of communicating with my Mexican friends and neighbors here in Mexico, where I spend most of my time. For you, it might be a business purpose or vacation travel. For all of us, speaking Spanish can enhance our lives in a variety of ways.
I think you can learn a lot, If you make the time for practice and if you select the best methods for you, you can learn Spanish rapidly. This does involve work. If you are over 12 years old, you aren’t going to pick it up by osmosis, and if you are w-a-y over 12, you may need to review more often.
So… WILL you learn Spanish fast?
Only you can answer that question.
