I don't think that paragraph was particularly precisely written.

You could google his name in quotes, but I can tell you that people often don't bother to answer emails about details... I have had my share of questions unanswered, not particularly regarding Spanish, just in general.

I guess you're right though he writes "...common questions like 'How do you like it?'". It sounds like he means any type of question starting with "how".

Funny -- in your post, you say that his book "...is beginning to show signs of age...". At first, I thought you were going to talk about how his information needed to be updated, but clearly, it's still quite valid. Is there any way to contact Keenan? I've searched around and can't find any contact info.

That got me to pull out my book and read that short entry -- which I wouldn't have done if you hadn't given the page number, thanks!

He doesn't say not to use “cómo” for how to do things.... he's talking about how did you like essentially.

I for one will stick with “cómo” in common phrases!

On page 157 he says that "cómo" should "never" be used to start a sentence asking how to do something. It is an "absolute no-no," he writes. So, that means that "Cómo se dice?" and "Cómo lo deletreas?" are totally incorrect? What should be used instead?
